USAutomatic Gate Opener Warranty Guide
A gate opener is a long-term investment, and warranty terms vary across models, components, and purchase dates. USAutomatic manufactures their openers in the USA with quality components, and while they strive for excellence, things happen and some part don't quite hit the mark. Luckily, nearly all USAutomatic products come with a 1 - 5 year warranty to ensure that your parts are up to the quality that they are known for. Warranty coverage differs between gate openers, parts, and accessories, please be sure to take note of how long your product warranty lasts when purchasing!
Warranty Coverage by Product Line
- Patriot I & II (post-2016): 5-year warranty on the control board, 3-year on all other components
- Ranger 500 & Sentry 300: 3-year warranty on all components
- Accessories and add-ons: Standard 3-year warranty
- Pre-2016 Patriot control boards: 1-year warranty, an important distinction for replacement part buyers
What Your Warranty Does NOT Cover
Lightning & Voltage Surges
- Direct lightning strikes or electrical surges that damage the control board are excluded
- Surge protection accessories are available and recommended in storm-prone areas
Battery Acid Damage
- Battery acid leaking onto the control board is excluded from coverage
- Using a maintenance-free AGM/SLA battery significantly reduces this risk
Physical Damage & Improper Installation
- Damage from improper installation, unauthorized modifications, or physical impact is not covered
- Using non-OEM replacement parts may affect warranty coverage on affected components
What Can Impact Your Warranty
When purchasing a USAutomatic product that has a warranty, it's important to note when it was manufactured. This is typically mentioned in the product title, description, or in the attached PDF on the product page. Why this matters is that certain products manufactured before 2016 carry a shorter term of coverage and it's best to not be caught off guard by that. Additionally, it's important to keep your receipt and exact model number as USAutomatic will need it for ALL warranty claims.
- Purchase date matters - pre-2016 units carry shorter coverage on control boards
- Always follow the included installation manual and use OEM components where possible
- Keep your purchase receipt and model number on hand, you will need both for any claim
