How to Unpair a Premium Metal Wireless Keypad from the Receiver

Unpairing the Premium Metal Wireless Keypad (Part #050551) from your LCR receiver is a two-part process. First, you remove the access code from the keypad itself. Second, you erase the learned transmitter code from the receiver's memory. Both steps are needed to fully disconnect the keypad from your system. If you are replacing the keypad or reassigning it to a different receiver, read through both sections before getting started.

Make sure you have your Master Password on hand before you begin. The factory default is 11111. If yours has been changed and you no longer know it, you will need your PUK code, which is printed on a label inside the keypad's battery compartment.

Part 1: Remove the Access Code from the Keypad

The keypad stores up to 256 unique access codes in its internal memory. To unpair it from your system, delete the access code (or codes) that were programmed to communicate with your receiver. You can remove a single code or clear all codes at once.

Option A: Delete a Single Access Code

Use this option if you only want to remove one specific access code and leave others intact.

1. Enter your Master Password on the keypad.
2. Press 9. You should hear two short beeps confirming the keypad accepted the command. One long beep means the Master Password was entered incorrectly. Start over from Step 1.
3. Enter the access code you want to delete.
4. Press 9.
5. Re-enter the same access code to confirm.
6. Press 9 again. Two short beeps confirm the code has been deleted. One long beep means there was an error. Double-check that the access code you entered matches exactly what was originally programmed, then start over from Step 1.

Option B: Erase All Access Codes at Once

Use this option to clear every programmed access code from the keypad. This is the quickest way to fully reset the keypad before reprogramming or decommissioning it.

1. Enter your Master Password on the keypad.
2. Press 9. Two short beeps confirm the keypad is ready. One long beep means the password was entered incorrectly. Start over from Step 1.
3. Re-enter the Master Password.
4. Press 9.
5. Re-enter the Master Password one more time to confirm.
6. Press 9. Two short beeps confirm all access codes have been erased. One long beep indicates an error. Verify your Master Password is correct and try again from Step 1.

Note: Erasing access codes does not reset your Master Password or change any other keypad settings. It only removes the stored access codes from the keypad's memory.

Part 2: Erase the Keypad's Code from the Receiver

Even after removing codes from the keypad, the receiver still holds the learned transmitter code in its memory. To fully unpair the keypad, you need to clear that code from the receiver as well. Your LCR receiver (Part #030200, 030205, or 030207) has two physical buttons on it, labeled P1 and P2. You will use these to complete the process.

Before starting, confirm the receiver has power. The green LD light should illuminate or respond when a button is pressed. If nothing happens, check that your power wiring connections are secure and that the receiver is getting the correct voltage for your system (typically 12V DC for the 030205). A receiver without power will not respond to button presses.

Option A: Erase a Single Learned Code from the Receiver

Use this option if you know the dipswitch settings of the keypad code you want to remove and want to leave other programmed devices untouched.

1. Set the dipswitches on a spare transmitter to match the dipswitch settings of the keypad code you want to erase. The keypad uses virtual dipswitches, so you will need to know the Security Code set during original programming. If you are unsure what those settings were, use Option B to clear all codes instead.
2. Press and hold the left button on that transmitter.
3. On the receiver, press and hold the P1 button until the green LD light comes on. Release both buttons.
4. Press and hold the right button on that same transmitter.
5. On the receiver, press and hold the P2 button until the green LD light comes on. Release both buttons.

The keypad's learned code is now erased from the receiver's memory.

Option B: Erase All Learned Codes from the Receiver

Use this option to wipe all transmitters and keypads from the receiver's memory at once. This is the best choice if you are starting fresh or do not have the original dipswitch settings on hand. Note that this will remove every device currently paired to this receiver. All remotes, keypads, and other wireless accessories will need to be re-paired after completing this step.

1. Press and hold the P2 button on the receiver until the green LD light comes on. Release P2.
2. While the LD light is still on, press and hold both P1 and P2 simultaneously. Hold until the green LD light begins to blink slowly. It will blink 4 times, then stop.

When the light finishes blinking, all transmitter codes have been cleared from the receiver's memory. You can now reprogram your devices as needed.

Troubleshooting

I hear 1 long beep instead of 2 short beeps on the keypad.

A long beep means the keypad did not accept the command. The most common cause is an incorrect Master Password. Make sure you are entering the right password and that each key press is registering on the display. If you have lost your Master Password, use the PUK code printed on the label inside the battery compartment to reset it back to the factory default of 11111.

The green LD light on the receiver is not coming on.

Confirm the receiver is powered on. Check that the power wires are firmly connected to the correct terminals and that the voltage supply matches the receiver's requirements (typically 12V DC for the 030205). If you recently worked on the wiring, double-check that no connections are loose or reversed. A receiver with no power will not respond to button presses.

The keypad still activates the gate after I deleted the access code.

The learned transmitter code may still be stored in the receiver's memory. Complete Part 2 above to remove it. Both parts must be finished for the keypad to be fully unpaired.

I erased all receiver codes but now nothing works.

Erasing all codes removes every paired device. You will need to re-pair all remotes and keypads. Start by creating your access codes on the keypad, then repeat the pairing steps outlined in the keypad manual. The LCR Receiver Programming Manual linked above covers transmitter pairing step by step.
