How to Turn the Night Light On or Off on a Premium Metal Wireless Keypad

The Premium Metal Wireless Keypad (Part #050551) has a built-in night light that automatically turns on when it gets dark and turns off when it is light enough. The light level is checked every 60 seconds. The night light is enabled by default. If you want to turn it off or back on, follow the steps below.

Move through the key presses quickly. The keypad will exit programming mode if you pause too long between steps and you will need to start over.

Troubleshooting

I hear one long beep after entering the Master Password.

The Master Password was not accepted. The factory default is 11111. If the password has been changed and you do not know it, use your PUK code to reset it back to default. The PUK code is printed on a sticker inside the keypad.

The night light is still coming on after I disabled it.

The keypad checks the light level every 60 seconds, so there may be a short delay before the change takes effect. If the night light continues to activate after a few minutes, the disable sequence may not have completed. Start over from Step 1 and make sure you are pressing each key without pausing.

The night light is not coming on after I enabled it.

Wait at least 60 seconds after enabling the feature, as that is how often the keypad checks the ambient light level. Also confirm the area around the keypad is actually dark enough to trigger it. If it still does not activate, repeat the enable steps and listen for the long beep confirmation after pressing *.
