How to Pair a Premium Metal Wireless Keypad to the Receiver

To pair the Premium Metal Wireless Keypad (Part #050551) to your LCR receiver, the keypad must already have an access code programmed into it. If you have not added one yet, do that first before continuing. The pairing process requires pressing a button on the receiver inside the gate opener's cabinet at the same time a key on the keypad is held down. You will need to either dismount the keypad or have a second person enter the code while you work at the receiver.

What You Need

• The included key to remove the keypad from its housing (a second person can assist in place of dismounting)
• A long, narrow tool such as a paperclip or toothpick to press the receiver button

Step 1: Enter the Access Code and Hold the Last Digit

On the keypad, enter your access code and hold down the last digit. The keypad will beep rapidly once the last digit is pressed and held. Keep holding that key and move to Step 2 without releasing it.

Step 2: Press and Hold P1 or P2 on the Receiver

While still holding the last digit on the keypad, use your narrow tool to press and hold the appropriate button on the receiver inside the gate opener's cabinet.

• Press P1 if this code should open and close the gate normally.
• Press P2 if this code should latch the gate open (hold open mode).

Hold both buttons until the green LED on the receiver turns on and you hear a click from the receiver. The gate should operate at this point, confirming a successful pair. Release both buttons.

Step 3: Test the Pairing

Enter the access code on the keypad to confirm it makes the gate operate. If the gate does not respond, check the troubleshooting section below.

Troubleshooting

The green LED on the receiver did not turn on.

Confirm the receiver has power. Check that the wiring connections inside the gate opener's cabinet are secure and that the receiver is getting the correct voltage. If the LED still does not respond, try the pairing steps again and make sure you are holding the last digit on the keypad before pressing the receiver button, not after.

The gate did not operate during pairing.

If the LED came on but the gate did not move, the receiver may have accepted the pair but the gate operator itself may not be responding. Check that the receiver output wires are connected to the correct terminals on the gate opener's control board.

The access code does not work after pairing.

Make sure the code was paired to the correct relay. If it was paired to P2 but you intended normal open/close behavior, you will need to re-pair it to P1. Repeat Steps 1 and 2, this time pressing and holding P1 on the receiver. If the keypad has no access code programmed, you will need to add one before attempting to pair again.

The keypad beeps rapidly but the receiver never responds.

You may be running out of time between steps. The keypad has a short activity timeout. Make sure you are moving from Step 1 to Step 2 without pausing. Having a second person handle the keypad while you work at the receiver is the easiest way to get the timing right.
