How to Add an Access Code to a Premium Metal Wireless Keypad

The Premium Metal Wireless Keypad (Part #050551) can store up to 256 access codes. Each code is used to operate the gate and can be up to 5 digits long. If your code is less than 5 digits, it must end with a # sign. The # is part of the code itself. For example: 24680, 4321#, or 25#.

Move through the key presses quickly. The keypad will exit programming mode if you pause too long between steps and you will need to start over.

Step 1: Enter the Master Password and Press 9

Enter your Master Password on the keypad, then press 9. The factory default is 11111. You should hear two short beeps. One long beep means the Master Password was not accepted. Check that you are using the correct password and try again. If you do not know your Master Password, you will need to reset it using your PUK code before continuing.

Step 2: Enter the Access Code and Press 9

Enter your new access code, then press 9. If the code is less than 5 digits, add a # at the end before pressing 9.

Step 3: Re-enter the Access Code and Press 1 (or 2)

Re-enter the same access code to confirm. Then press 1 to assign it to channel 1 (P1) for normal open and close operation. If you already have a code on channel 1 and need this new code to behave differently, press 2 instead to assign it to channel 2 (P2). Two short beeps confirm the code has been saved. To verify, enter the new code on the keypad. It should beep rapidly and operate the gate.

Step 4: Pair the Keypad to the Receiver

If this is the first access code being added to the keypad, you will need to pair the keypad to the receiver before it will operate the gate. If the keypad is already paired, this step is not needed. Refer to the pairing article for step-by-step instructions.

Troubleshooting

I hear one long beep after entering the Master Password.

The Master Password was not accepted. The factory default is 11111. If it has been changed and you do not know the current password, use your PUK code to reset it. The PUK code is on a sticker inside the keypad.

I hear one long beep after the final step.

The two access code entries did not match, or the keypad timed out during entry. Start over from Step 1 and make sure both entries of the access code are identical. If your code is under 5 digits, confirm you are including the # at the end each time.

The code was saved but the gate does not operate.

The keypad may not be paired to the receiver yet, or it may have been paired to a different channel than intended. Confirm the keypad is paired and that it was paired on the same channel (P1 or P2) you assigned the code to. If you pressed 1 at the end of Step 3, the code is on P1. If you pressed 2, it is on P2. Re-pair if needed using the pairing article linked above.
